Two hundred and thirty hours and twenty-four minutes (230h. 24m.) of Fog were experienced and the Fog Gun was fired two thousand four hundred and forty-six (2,446) times.
The Shore End of the Telegraph Cable was broken on the 6th October; a new Shore End was fitted and telegraphic communication restored on November 20th.
On one occasion the Relief was delayed by the Bad Weather and Rough Sea.
GREEN ISLAND.
One thousand seven hundred and one (1,701) vessels were signalled and reported. Owing to the telegraphic and telephonic communication being interrupted, at different times, 139 vessels were not reported.
197 messages were received and 148 sent. Communication was interrupted at nine different times during the year.
