Beri-beri continues to increase in the Colony. Admissions and deaths during the past ten years have been as follows:

Malaria also shows an increase; but this is due almost entirely to the large number of admissions from the railway works, and is the result of conditions that will disappear when these works are completed, and when the permanent railway employees will be doubtless adequately protected from Malaria. The Hospital has been duly inspected by the Visiting Justices twice monthly, and has been certified by them to have been found on all occasions clean and in good order.
The Directors of the Hospital, both the past year's Directors and the recently elected Board, have been unfailingly most courteous in reference to matters submitted to them by the Inspecting Medical Officer, whose suggestions have been carefully carried into effect,
