Report on the Police School.

POLICE SCHOOL, VICTORIA,

HONGKONG, 12th February, 1909.

SIR, I have the honour to submit to you the Report on the Police School for the year ending 31st December, 1908.

2. The only change on the staff is that I. P. S. Mohandir Singh takes the place of I. L. S. Bishen Singh (seconded).

3. During the year the following Police Constables obtained the necessary certificates of exemption :-

E. P. C. 1 I. P. C. 9 C. P. C. 24 Gaol Staff 3 5 41

4. Prizes were awarded as follows :

To one I. P. C. for speaking English.

I. P. C. for reading and writing English.

C. P. C. for speaking English.

Gaol Guard for speaking English.

It is to be regretted that only 24 men presented themselves for these prizes.

5. The total Attendance during the year was :

Central Station, 6,128 No. 8 Station, 620 6,748

School was open on 95 days, giving a daily average attendance of 71. Highest attendance on 6th July, 1908, 91 men.

Six days' attendances were lost in September, through damage caused by typhoon.

6. Number of units present :-
