Calls attention to the ill effects of Medi- terranean Fever in Malta, and suggests that its cause should be investigated by a Joint Commission.

Approves the appointment of the pro-

posed Joint Commission.

Concurs in the proposal to appoint a

Commission.

Requests that the matter of a contribu- tion should be placed before the Legislative Council for free and full consideration, and suggests that the contribution, if made, should be paid into the common fund.

States that a Commission is being formed for the investigation of Medi- terranean Fever, and enquires whether the Society would be willing to appoint an Advisory Board of Experte for the purpose of supervis- ing the investigations.

Expresses pleasure at his opinion that the Council of Government will be ready to contribute, and suggests that any contribution should be paid to the common fund.

Calls attention to the decision of the Senate of the University of Cam- bridge to establish an examination and diploma in tropical medicine, and asks that the [University] will give similar encouragement.

Acknowledges receipt of No. 4, and states that the matter will be laid before the Council. Calls attention to the expense incurred in enquiries, and states that it may not be practi- cable to undertake investigations in- volving serious expenditure.

States that the Cambridge Report will be sent for the consideration of the Faculty of Medicine, and that the University will exert itself to the utmost in the matter.

Reports what little it has been possible to do in the way of research into the special diseases of the island, and sub- mite proposals for the extension of medical aid to the rural population, and the grant of a yearly sum to the proposed fund.
