(3)—Any copy of the principal Ordinance printed after the commencement of this Ordinance may be printed with the additions, omissions, substitutions, and amendments required and made as well by this Ordinance as by "The Women and Girls' Protection Ordinance Amendment 'Ordinance, 1890," and "The Women and Girls' Protection Ordinance Amendment Ordinance 1891."
2. After section four of the principal Ordinance there shall be added the follow- ing section which shall be numbered 4A:—
4. If any inmate of a brothel shall state to the keeper of such brothel that she "desires to make a complaint to the Protector of personal ill-usage or of any breach of any provision of this Ordinance on the part of the said keeper or of any other person, "the said keeper shall be legally bound to send notice of such statement to the Protector “ within a reasonable time, and in default of so doing shall be liable on conviction before the Supreme Court or a Court of two Magistrates to imprisonment of either descrip- tion for a term not exceeding one year, or to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars "or to both."
3. Section ten, sub-section (2) of section twelve, section fourteen, and clauses (a) (b) and (c) of sub-section (1) of section eighteen of the principal Ordinance are hereby repealed.
4. Section thirteen of the principal Ordinance shall be amended by inserting at the end of sub-section (1) thereof the words following:-"and also if so required by the Protector to produce such woman or girl in the absence of reasonable excuse proof whereof shall lie on the person called upon to produce such woman or girl.”

I HAVE the honour to transmit for the signification of Her Majesty's pleasure the following Ordinance entitled: An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, to amend the Wonen and Girls' Protection Ordinance, 1890, and Ordinance No. 14 of 1891, entitled an Ordinance to amend the Women and Girls' Protection Ordinance, 1890.
2. The customary report by the Attorney-General is annexed,* and I enclose for Your Lordship's information a report of the proceedings in Council in connection with the Ordinance.

with Ordinance No. 14 of 1891, entitled: An Ordinance to amend "The Women and Girls' Protection Ordinance, 1890" (hereinafter referred to as the amendment Ordi- nance) as hereby amended.
2. The principal Ordinance, and the amendment Ordinance, and the Rules and Repeal. Regulations made under the principal Ordinance, to the extent mentioned in the schedule hereto, are hereby repealed. Provided such repeals shall not be taken to revive any Ordinance repealed by the principal Ordinance or by the amendment Ordi- nance, nor shall affect any thing duly done or suffered under the provisions hereby repealed or any imprisonment, fine, or punishment, or liability incurred, or to be incurred in respect of any offence committed before the coming into operation of this Ordinance under the provisions hereby repealed.

4. Upon complaint laid before a Magistrate by three or more householders that Summary a house in their immediate neighbourhood is used as a common brothel or lodging Jurisdic- house for prostitutes or disorderly persons of any description to the annoyance of the Magis- respectable inhabitants of the vicinity, a Magistrate shall have and exercise summary trates in jurisdiction in respect thereof, and it shall be lawful for the Magistrates to issue a respect to summons to the owner or tenant of the house whereof complaint is made as provided disorderly by section 10 of "The Magistrates Ordinance, 1890," and upon the hearing of the case if the Magistrate is satisfied that the house is used in the manner complained of and is a source of annoyance and offence to the neighbours, he may order the owner or tenant to discontinue such use of it, and if the owner or tenant shall fail to comply with such order within such time as the Magistrate may by his order fix, the Magistrate may impose upon such owner or tenant a fine not exceeding $15 for every day that the house shall be so used after the time fixed by the Magistrate's order.
This section shall be deemed to be substituted for Part III. of the principal Ordinance, and the provisions herein contained shall be without prejudice to any other proceedings or remedies civil or criminal which may lie or be taken in respect of the matters aforesaid.
The provisions of "The Magistrates Ordinance, 1890,” relating to summary pro- cedure shall apply to proceedings under this section.
