MR. CHAMBERLAIN to COMMISSIONER LOCKHART.
Downing Street, March 27, 1903. I HAVE the honour to inform you that I telegraphed to you on the 25th instant, stating that the provision made for the police (including the gaol) in the Wei-hai- Wei Estimates for 1903-4, and the action reported in your despatch, No. 67, of the 15th December last,† were approved.
