Aston House, Crystal Palace Park Road, May 22, 1880. HAVING recently arrived from Melbourne (where for several years I was a member of the Legislative Council), and being accredited by the Victorian Government to represent them before the Royal Commission on Defences, it has been suggested to me by the Right Honourable H. C. E. Childers, that an interview with yourself might afford me valuable information upon this and other subjects of interest to the Colony.
Should this suggestion fall in with your views, I shall be happy to wait upon you at any time convenient to yourself.
