possible support. They write good and even amusing articles against the pro- German Spanish periodicals, which they have nicknamed "La Prensa Turca," and that Press is much vexed at the enthusiastic loyalty of Gibraltar.

VIII. Censorship.-The Chief Justice, Mr. Bartle Frere, undertook the duties of Assistant Chief Censor from the commencement. He devoted much time

to this important duty, and his services were of the greatest value.

I attach his report (Appendices "H" and "I"), and also a report from the Postmaster-General as to the effect of the war on postal services. (Appendix "J.") In conclusion, I beg to state that I have received every assistance from both the military and civilian staff at Gibraltar.
