If this rate be continued the total entry for the year will probably not fall short of, and may exceed, 100. Of these gentlemen Dr. Weld has entered to undertake researches on the tubercle bacillus; Mr. Thorp, B.Sc., on micro-organisms in milk; and Dr. Plimmer is undergoing a course of instruction preliminary to an original investigation. Sir Hugh Beevor, Prof. Crookshank, and Dr. Hewlett are continuing their researches. NOTE.--It will not be out of place in this report to add that Professor Watson Cheyne, previous to the creation of a Surgical Pathological Laboratory, made use of the Bacteriological Laboratory for a part of his work on Tubercular Disease of Bones, and Professor Ferrier also, pending the equipment of a neurological laboratory, performed there some of the experiments which were published in his most recent work on Cerebral Localisation.
