Gives cost of Dr. J. W. W. Stephens' passage to Calcutta, and states that the period of the voyage may be taken to have been 31 days.

Regrets, in reply to No. 45, that it was inadvertently stated in No. 3 that he would be entitled to subsistence allowance on the voyage from Eng- land to India, and states that only salary for the period in question will be granted.

Transmits, in reply to No. 11, copy of a joint minute by the Acting Assistant Colonial Secretary and the Chief Medical Officer, and considers that all the recommendations made may be adopted with advantage. Transmite, in reply to No. 11, copy of a letter from the Prime Minister on the subject, stating that there does not appear to be any necessity for carry- ing out the proposals in the Colony. Replies to the suggestions made in No. 11, and states views of the Prin- cipal Medical Officer on the subject. Transmita, in reply to No. 11, copies of minutes by the Chief Medical Officer, and suggests that his recommenda- tions should be acted on.

Forwards, in reply to Nos. 11 and 14, observations of the Principal Medical Officer on the suggestions made for the prevention of malaria, and sub- mits remarks.

Reports arrival of Dr. Daniels in Eng- land, and anggests that he should be asked to furnish a short report on the operations of the Sierra Leone Malarial Expedition, with his obeer- vations on its work.

Reports, in reply to No. 11, that in view of the few cases of malaria imported, the Board of Public Health has de- cided that the issue of Dr. Manson's placard will meet all requirements.

Transmite copy of a letter from Dr. Daniels, containing his observations and report on the operations of the Liverpool School in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
