Object of the Bill.

The Particular

Colonial Acts to

be confirmed. [New South Wales.]

"FEDERAL

1900."

The object of this Bill is to confirm certain Colonial Acts (enumerated in the Schedule) which should have been reserved, but were assented to without reservation, for the significa. tion of Her late Majesty Queen Victoria's pleasure thereon.

If passed, the Bill will validate all action that has been taken under these Acts from the time of their being passed to the time of the passing of this Bill.

The particular Colonial Acts which require confirmation and have rendered legislation of this kind necessary are as follows:-

(1.) Act No. 73 OF NEW SOUTH WALES, ELECTIONS ACT,' entitled, "An Act to provide for the election in New South Wales of members of the Parlia- ment of the Commonwealth; to provide that, a member of such Parliament shall be incapable of being summoned, or elected, or of sitting as a member of the Legislative Council or Legis. lative Assembly in the nineteenth or any subse- quent Parliament of New South Wales; and for purposes consequent upon or incidental thereto."
