167.—Procuring Miscarriage.

Any person who, with intent to procure the miscarriage of a A. 206. woman, whether she is with child or not, administers to or causes to be taken by her, any poison or other noxious thing, uses any instrument or other means whatsoever, is liable to penal servitude for life;

168.—Woman procuring her own Miscarriage.
Any woman, whether with child or not, who, with intent to A. 207. procure her own miscarriage, administers or permits to be B. 8. 214, administered to herself, any poison or other noxious thing, or 313.
C. 88. 225, uses or permits to be used on herself any instrument or other 24 & 25 means whatsoever, is guilty of felony.
169.—Supplying Instruments to procure Miscarriage.

'Any person who supplies or procures any poison or other A. 208. noxious thing, or any instrument or thing whatsoever, B. 215. knowing that it is intended to be used or employed with intent 0.226. to procure the miscarriage of any woman, whether she is with Vict. c. 100. child or not, is guilty of felony; and if he has been previously 8. 59. convicted of an offence under section 167 or this section he is liable to penal servitude for life.
170.-Neglecting to procure Assistance in Childbirth.

Any woman, who, being with child and being about to be A. 181. delivered, neglects to provide reasonable assistance in her B. 185-6. delivery, if the child is permanently injured thereby, or dies (9). 253. either just before, or during, or shortly after birth, unless she proves that such injury or death was not caused by such neglect, or by any wrongful act to which she was a party, is liable
(1) if the intent of such neglect be that the child shall not live, to penal servitude for life; or
(2) if the intent of such neglect be to conceal the fact of her having had such a child, to penal servitude for seven years.

woman shall be entitled to be acquitted of an offence against this section because the facts proved amount to murder or manslaughter; but no woman who has been convicted or acquitted of an offence under this section, shall be afterwards tried for the murder or manslaughter of such child, or for any other offence on the same facts.
171.-Concealment of Birth.
Any person who disposes of the dead body of a child in any A. 182. manner, with intent to conceal the fact that its mother was B. 187. delivered of it, whether the child died before, during, or after C. 314. birth is guilty of a misdemeanour.

CHAPTER XVI.—BODILY INJURIES AND ACTS CAUSING DANGER.
172.—Grievous Injury—Actual Injury with certain Intents.
Any person who intentionally inflicts or attempts to inflict on another a grievous bodily injury;
and
any person who—
(1) wounds or attempts to wound another; or
(2) inflicts or attempts to inflict on another any actual bodily injury; or
(3) who in any way renders another person insensible, or causes him to become stupified;
with any of the following intents, namely :—
(a.) to commit, or facilitate the commission of any
felony or misdemeanour; or
(b.) to facilitate the flight of any person upon the commission, or attempted commission, of any felony or misdemeanour; or
(c.) to prevent the arrest or lawful detention of any
one;
is liable to penal servitude for life and flogging,

174.—Actual Injury and certain Assaults.

(1) assaults, or wilfully obstructs, any judicial officer or peace officer in the execution of his duty, or any person lawfully assisting him or
(2) assaults any person in, or on account of, the lawful execution of any duty imposed on him by law; or
(3) assaults any person with intent to compel him to abstain from doing, or to compel him to do any act which he has a legal right to do or to abstain from doing; or
