and on subsequent convictions to a fine of five pounds and imprisonment for six months.

144.-Begging.

Any person who wanders abroad or places himself in any Grenada, public place to gather alms, or causes, procures, or encourages

145.-Vagrancy.

Any person who sleeps or loiters in or under any building, Grenada, wholly or in part unoccupied, or is found in or under any cart, 149. carriage, boat, or ship, or being on or under any wharf. jetty, Geo. 4, e bridge, or footway refuses to remove therefrom when ordered 83, B. 4. so to do by any peace officer, or the person in charge thereof, or is found in any enclosed land or any building without the leave of the owner, occupier, or person in charge thereof, and cannot, in any of the circumstances aforesaid give a good account of himself, is guilty of a simple offence and liable to a month's imprisonment.

146.—Various minar simple Offences.

Any person who does any of the following acts is guilty of Of a simple offence, but is not liable to be punished with imprison- Grenada, ment therefore; that is to say, any person who

(1) in the town of Z. unlawfully places or leaves any object whatever in a public way, or suspends any object whatever over a public way, in such a manner as to cause an obstruction, danger or inconvenience to any person ;

(2) in the town of Z. wantonly and needlessly in any public way, by singing, shouting, playing on any musical or other instrument, or in any other manner makes a dis- orderly noise, to the annoyance of any person during the time between one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise;

(3) in the town of Z. causes or takes part in any procession or organised meeting of persons in any public way or public place, in contravention of any rules made by the Head of the Police in that behalf, and published by him, and without his leave;

.(4) in the town of Z. except upon a lawful or neces- sary occasion, fires off any canion, gun, pistol or other fire-arm, whether or not loaded with any shot. bullet, ball or other projectile, in any street, public place, or unen- closed space thereto immediately adjoining;

(5) in the town of 7. commits a nuisance in any public place or open space, or in any place being an appurtenance of or adjoining a dwelling house;

(7) wilfully prevents or hinders the free passage of any other person or any vehicle in a public way by placing any obstruction thereon, or by doing any dainage to such public way, or by allowing any vehicle or any horse, cattle, sheep, or any other animal or animals belonging to hin or being under his control or in his custody, to loiter or be on the said way otherwise than when they are being lawfully drawn or driven along it ;

(8) carelessly or furiously rides or drives any animal, or propels any vehicle on any public way or in any public place, in such a manner as to endanger the personal safety of any person lawfully using the said way or being in the said place, whether any person is so using the said way, or is in such place, or not;

(9) wantonly extinguishes the light in any lamp, in any public place;

(10) wilfully defaces any public notice, or removes the same from any place where it is lawfully affixed.

(6) in the town of Z. having the custody of above five years of age, permits it to go naked in any child uny public place, or open place thereto adjoining ;
