I HAVE the honour to enclose a certified copy of a minute of the Executive Council relating to a contribution of 20,000 dollars, which my Ministers have caused to be cabled to the credit of Her Majesty's Government in the Bank of Montreal, London, to be devoted to such purpose in connection with the war in South Africa as the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies may determine.
In accordance with the terms of said minute I despatched a cable to you on the 11th instant, to which I have received your reply ‡

It has been a great pleasure to me to read the particulars given in your despatch, and I wish cordially to acknowledge the public spirit and great liberality shown by those who initiated the movement and those who supported it so warmly.

With reference to the correspondence as per margin,† I have the honour to transmit, for your information and for record, the Governor to See. of State, 1031900.
first Grenada subscription lists for the Transvaal Sec. of State to Governor, 11,4 1900.
War Fund, showing contributions received so far in money to the amount of £304 4s. 8d. and in cocoa to the extent of 23 5-9 bags, which may be estimated as worth £180 4s. Od.
Of the cocoa received, 13 bags and two half bags were shipped to London for sale on the 10th April last, and realised the exceptionally high amount of £107 3s. 10d.; which I have asked Messrs. Hankey, of Mincing Lane, London, to be good enough to pay in to the Crown Agents as Grenada's first instalment towards the South African War Fund.

SIR,
I HAVE the honour to inform you that the Crown Agents for the Colonies have brought to my notice a letter§ addressed to them by the Commissioner of the Turks and Caicos Islands, in which he requests that they will pay over to the Lord Mayor of London for account of the Mansion House Fund for the relief of Transvaal War sufferers, the sum of £107 8s. 6d., being the amount raised in the dependency by public subscription and otherwise.
I have to request that Mr. Cameron may be informed that the Crown Agents have been authorised to comply with his request, and that I have learnt with much gratifi- cation of this generous donation from the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands.
