RESOLUTIONS.

No. 1.

The inhabitants of Bagotville District, Canal No. 1, having had explained to them in a satisfactory manner the cause of the war in, and the geography and history of South Africa, and having had removed from their minds the false notions that a great injustice is being done the Boers by the British, whose rule is equal rights and privileges to all alike, and being cognizant of the fact that many thousand eminent and useful lives have been and are being killed and wounded, desire to express their sincere sympathy with the bereaved wives, children, and relatives of the soldiers, who, in their prowess, have perished in the various battles; and beg that the expressions of their sentiments be stretched to the said bereaved by the Government.

No. 2.

That in order to be practical in their sympathy with the bereaved wives, children, and relatives of the fallen at the different battles in South Africa, and that with a view of manifesting their emphatic loyalty and patriotism to their Sovereign Lady Queen Victoria, &c., it is the unanimous wish of the people of Bagotville, Canal No. 1, that an amount be sent to augment the "Transvaal War Fund."
