'Burni,"
Lieutenant-Commander Tirkov, of Russian destroyer arrived here to-day at 5 p.m., having marched from Shantung with the crew.
The following is his report:-
"
'The ‘Burni' ran on a rock on Shantung at 2.8 in the night in a fog, all saved. I destroyed the torpedo boat destroyer. The crew has lost everything and I have no money. I am at Weihaiwei under British protection."
I have interned officers and men in "Humber," and propose sending them to Hong Kong unless I receive orders to the contrary.
Commanding Officer requests that his report may be communicated to the Russian Government.
