RAPPORT fait par M. A. E. BATEMAN au nom du Comité spécial sur la comparabilité des Statistiques Commerciales.
MESSIEURS,
SÉANCE du 4 Septembre 1889.
COMME rapporteur du Comité sur cette question, j'ai l'honneur de rapporter comme suit :
1.-CLASSIFICATION DES ARTICLES.
a lieu dès maintenant pour Le Comité estime qu'en attendant une classification uniforme, il y rendre plus facilement comparables les statistiques du commerce extérieur de chaque paya, de faire suivre les publications de l'espèce d'une table alphabétique en langue française.
Le Comité ajoute qu'afin de préparer une classification international type, le rapporteur rechercherait avec ses collègues les moyens d'y arriver en tenant compte autant que possible des classifications existant dans les différents pays.
II.-ÉVALUATION DES MARCHANDISES.
Le Comité recommenderait de préférence une méthode par laquelle il serait possible de constater dans des publications mensuelles de atatistique commerciale autant que faire se pourra les valeurs actuelles au moment de l'importation ou de l'exportation.
III.-PAYS D'ORIGINE ET DE DESTINATION.
Le Comité saisi de la question d'établissement des statistiques du commerce extérieur d'après les pays de production au lieu du pays de provenance, estime que s'il est désirable de présenter les marchandises par pays d'origine, il est obligé de reconnaître que cette mesure rencontrerait dane la pratique de grandes difficultés et n'arriverait en tout état de cause qu'à donner des résultats qui ne
le caractère de certitude désirable en ces matières. рав présenteraient
IV. LE MOUVEMENT INTERNATIONAL DES MÉTAUX PRÉCIEUX.
Le Comité estime qu'il y aurait intérêt à rapprocher de la statistique du mouvement international des métaux précieux, fournies par les administrations douanières, les renseignements émanés des établissements de crédit.

In every instance in which any denomination of tale, weight, or measure is affixed to the name of an article in this list, the quantity of such article is to be exhibited ander that denomination, in addition to the value, which is in no case to be omitted. Where a denomination of quantity is not attached to the article, the value alone is required.
When any of the following articles are Exported, the descriptions approved for this list are to be strictly adhered to, and the declarations must be made on the Foreign (red) forms of Specification.
