Finance. A statement of the revenue and expenditure for the past half-year is given in Appendix III. The smallness of the items appearing under the two publications is due to the fact that the long overdue accounts from the Stationery not received in time for inclusion. Office and Dulau & Company were The amount of interest on deposits is much greater than we have ever received Appendix IV. contains a statement showing previously for a like period. the cash available at the end of the half-year, together with an estimate of the receipts and expenditure for the rest of the financial year, leaving a probable surplus of £1,507.

Carnegie Studentships.-At the last meeting I reported that our Chairman had very kindly endeavoured to induce Mr. Carnegie to continue his donation of £1,000 a year to the Bureau, but up to that time no reply had been received. I am glad to be able to report that on the 1st June Mr. Harcourt received a letter from Mr. Carnegie saying that he had given instructions for the payments to be continued for another three years, that is, up to the end of 1919.

It is. presumed that the Committee still adheres to its earlier decision not to appoint any students during the continuance of the War.
