Transmits copy of a letter from the Administrator, Southern Rhodesia, covering a report by the Director of Agriculture, submitting recommen- dations for checking the advance of the teetse fly; asks for any informa- tion acquired by the Colonial Office since 27th January, 1915.

Transmita copy of a minute by the Director of the Medical and Sanitary Service pointing out that certain statistics furn- ished as to the mortality of sleeping sickness were based on information obtained from the Southern Nigeria Annual Medical Report for 1918; requests that copies of the minute and report may be forwarded to Dr. Bagshawe.

Transmits copy of a despatch to the West African Governments regarding the report of the Committee on Sleeping Sickness, and conveys pur- port of No. 29.

Transmita copy of a letter from the Administrator's Department, Southern Rhodesia, enclosing a report of a meet- ing held to discuss the present position regarding tsetse fly in Southern Rho- desia, and requests a reply to the points mentioned in No. 28.

Transmits game returns for 1916 and Bummary of game killed under licence; states number of prosecu- tions undertaken for breaches of Regulations.

Transmits copies of reports by Dr. Blair and Dr. Johnson on two cases of sleeping sickness in Kaduna; has approved the issue of a special war- rant for £100 to carry out Dr. Blair's recommendations.

Reports as to cases of sleeping sickness among troops returning from Portu- gusse East Africa, and states pre- cautionary measures taken.

Suggests the use of poison gas to exterminate fly and game on Sesse Islands.

Submits proposals for research to be undertaken by Mr. Fiske and him- self in Uganda in connexion with sleeping sickness.

Memorandum concerning procedure for reclamation of depopulated region bordering Victoria Nyanza and its sanitation against sleeping sickness.

Outline for practical and technical work in connexion with sleeping sickness in Uganda and Victoria Nyanza.

Reports that no case of sleeping sick- ness has been notified in German East Africa and transmits two reports by Dr. Lamborn as to pos- sible introduction of the disease into the occupied territory.

Transmits report showing result during

period 1st June, 1915, to 81st March, 1919, of the abolition of game licences for shooting within the pro- claimed free area (Ngara Sub-Dia- trict); considers that the experiment has failed and does not propose to repeat it pending instructions from the Secretary of State.
