The only direct loss to the Bureau resulting from this arrangement will be the subscriptions paid by the Tropical African Colonies and Protectorates for the Bulletins which they have hitherto received, about £40 per annum.
The Sub-Committee have considered the question of making a charge for the special index to the first volume of the Review now in course of preparation. They are of the opinion that, on the analogy of other journals, subscribers will have no ground for complaint if a charge is made, provided that an abbreviated index is included in the volume, and they recommend that this procedure should be adopted.
5. The Sub-Committee recommend that to meet current expenditure the Director should be allowed to draw £40 instead of £25 a month.
6. Covering approval is sought for the payment of £25 to Mr: C. Warburton for the identification work done on behalf of the Bureau.

SIR,
Paris, October 16th, 1913. I DULY acquainted the Minister for Foreign Affairs, as instructed by your despatch, No. 182, Commercial, of August 29th with the desire of the Imperial Bureau of Entomology to obtain full information in regard to the distribu- tion of the Stegomyia fasciata in Eastern ports, and with the interest which they attached to receiving particulars on the subject as regards French possessions in the Far East and the Pacific.
I have the honour to acquaint you that the Minister for Foreign Affairs, reply- ing to my communication, informs me that the Minister for the Colonies, to whom the matter was referred, proposes to giye instructions to the competent scientific autho- rities in the French Far-Eastern and Pacific Possessions in order that investigations may be set on foot locally as to the existence, numbers and varieties of mosquitoes which are possible carriers of yellow fever. Moreover, Monsieur Morel has asked for collections to be sent in duplicate in order to permit of co-operation between the British and French Natural History Museums.
Monsieur Morel has promised to communicate to Monsieur Pichon the informa- tion which he may receive on the subject, which appears to him to be of the greatest interest.
