I HAVE the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your despatch, No. 489 of the 21st of August,* in regard to the statistics asked for in my circular of the 20th of December, 1910,† in regard to the prevention of mosquito-borne diseases in the Gold Coast; and to point out that the statistics furnished on pages 37 to 42 of the Annual Report on the Medical Department for 1910 are not in the form suggested by Sir Ronald Ross, and that it would require a considerable expenditure of time and trouble to get at the information desired.

2. I shall be glad, therefore, if you will give directions for the statistics for 1910 to be supplied in the form suggested.
