Reports that the Crown Agents have 113
been requested to pay the contribu- tion of £50 for 1912-13, and to make a similar payment at the commence- ment of each financial year.
States, in reply to No. 118, that £50 a year appears to be a reasonable con- tribution for Fiji; suggests that the contribution should be guaranteed for three years, the first being paid over in the financial year ending 31st March, 1914.
Informs him that the Committee regret that they cannot hear any portion of the expenditure entailed by Dr. Strickland's employment after the expiration of the original engage ment; approves of the retention of his services provided that the whole of the cost is borne by the funds of the Colony.
