States, in reply to No. 100, that Mr. Fiske should remain in Uganda and carry out such Glossina work as he thinks most important; it is proposed that, on the completion of the period of twelve months for which he was originally appointed to work under the Royal Society, Mr. Fiske shall carry on entomological research under the Imperial Bureau, and directs that he may be asked if he is willing to do this.
States, in reply to No. 82, that the Government Entomologist, who has not yet been appointed, will not be able to attend the Conference, but that the Microbiologist may attend as the Government Mycologist. Suggests lines on which Dr. Lamborn
might work in Nyasaland.
Reports that it will not be possible for the Government Entomologist toattend the Conference of official entomolo- gists, but, if possible, the Government Botanist will; favours representatives of Mycological Departinents being present.
States, in reply to No. 82, that it may be possible for the Director of Science and Agriculture or the Surgeon- General to attend the Conference, but that leave cannot be granted next year to the Government Botanist or the Government Biologist to attend.
Transmits a copy of a letter from the Resident Commissioner, New Hebri- des, covering replies received from certain-medical gentlemen with regard to the distribution of mosquitoes in the New Hebrides, together with a copy of a letter from the Agent and Consul, Tonga, stating that the Chief Medical Officer has not yet replied on the subject.
Notifies appointment of Dr. W. A. S. Lamborn as Travelling Entomologist in East Africa, and observes that no arrangements have yet been made for Dr. Lamburn's work other than that he should first proceed to Nyasaland to carry out work on Glossina.
