No. 66.
BARBADOS.
THE GOVERNOR to THE SECRETARY OF STATE.
(Received 8 February, 1910.)
(No. 7.) MY LORD,
Government House, 11th January, 1910. WITH reference to the second paragraph of your Lordship's despatch, No. 107, of the 23rd of October last,* asking to be informed of the steps it is proposed to take for preventing the spread of anchylostomiasis, I have the honour to inform your Lordship that Dr. Manning, to whom I referred your despatch, reports that the annual death-rate from this disease in this Colony is very small, and that as the infected area is about to be supplied with an abundant supply of pure and whole- some water there is every reason to believe that at no distant date the disease will be entirely stamped out.
I have, &c.,
G. T. CARTER,
Governor.
* Acknowledgment of No. 50 in Miscellaneous No. 238.
