2. In the Interpretation of this Act and for

the Purposes thereof-

(1.) The Words "Her Majesty" shall signify and include "Her Majesty, Her Heirs " and Successors :" (2.) The Term "Colonial Possession

shall

signify any Part of the Colonial Posses- sions, Territories, Dominions, and Pos- sessions of Her Majesty for the Time being, other than the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, and such Territories as may for the Time being be vested in Her Majesty under or by virtue of the Statute of the Twenty-first and Twenty-second Years of Her Majesty's Reign, intituled "An Act for the botter Government of "India :"

(8.) The Term " Colony" shall signify any Colonial Possession or Possessions coin- prised within the Jurisdiction of the Legislature:

(4.) The Term "Province" shall signify a Colony named in the First Schedule to this Act, or a Colony hereafter declared to be a Province by Her Majesty in Council; but the Terms "Colony" and "Colonial" used in this Act with refe- rence to a Colony shall include and apply to "Provinces " as well as other Colonies, unless the contrary shall be expressed or implied by the Context: (5.) The Term "Franchised Colony" shall signify a Colony named in Schedule (A.) or in Schedule (B.) to this Act, or a to be a Colony hereafter declared

any Instrument issued under the Great sion: Seal of the United Kingdom, or other- wise lawfully issued by or under the Authority of Her Majesty, conferring on any Person the Office of Governor of any Colony, or of Commander-in- Chief of Her Majesty's Forces in any Colony, or of adding to, enlarging, limiting, or defining the Powers of such Governor or Commander-in-Chief":

(11.) The Term "Instructions" shall signify "Instruc

(12.) The Term "Assent" shall signify and "Aesent :"

include the Assent of Her Majesty, or (0.52.)
