Acknowledges the receipt of No. 46: points out that no provision has been made for 1909; the Crown Agenta have therefore been instructed to transfer the sum of £100 from Straits Settlements funds to the Fund as the Colony's contribution for 1909.

Acknowledges the receipt of No. 67: states that the contributions promised by the various colonies have now exceeded the sum of £1,500, and requests that instructions may be issued for the payment of the contri- bution of the Indian Government.

December 10 Enquires whether the contribution of Dominica is to be continued, and whether it would be possible for Antigua, Montserrat, and the Virgin Island to make a small contribution.

Acknowledges the receipt of No. 40: points out that the last payment to the Fund is in respect of 1908, and that the Crown Agents have not been authorized to make any subsequent payment, but that they have now been instructed to pay over the amount provided on the Estimates for 1909.

Expresses satisfaction at the success of the measures taken for the removal of sources of malaria in the Messaoria.

States that the Secretary of State has approved of the renewal of the grants applied for in his letter of October 2, and that the Crown Agents have been authorized to pay them,
