AGENDA AND MINUTES OF THE FIRST MEETING OF THE ENTOMO- LOGICAL RESEARCH COMMITTEE HELD AT THE COLONIAL OFFICE ON THE 15TH OF JULY, 1909, at 12 NOON.
I. It is proposed that the Committee should meet once a quarter at a date which will be fixed from time to time.
II. To consider on what lines the work of the Committee should be organized. It is suggested for discussion that there should be four sub-committees dealing with insects in their relation to the diseases of
(a) Human beings;
(b) Animals;
(c) Plants; and with
(d) Publication arrangements.
III. The sub-committees to be composed as follows

IV. To select the Scientific Secretary and decide as to his duties and emolu- tents. (See annexure.) A lay secretary will be provided by the Colonial Office.
V. To consider the communications which it is proposed to address to the authorities in Egypt, the Soudan, and South Africa with a view to co-ordinating the work which is being done in those countries with the work in East and West Africa.
VI. To select the two experts for work in East and West Africa, respectively, and fo decide as to their duties and emoluments.
VII. It is suggested that further details of organization should be elaborated by the sub-committee and submitted to the General Committee at their next meeting.
