Submits a detailed statement of the in- vestigation into beri-beri which he proposes to carry out in Taiping Gaol.

States that Mr. Darcy has sent Lord Chelmsford £1,000 for the Australian School of Tropical Medicine and aaka that the Committee may be informed.

Encloses reports of the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine for the six months ending 31st October, 1908, and states that another expedition of the School will proceed to Jamaica on 15th November.

Forwards a copy of a despatch from the Administrator of St. Kitts-Nevis trans- mitting copies of minutes by Dr. Rat, Dr. E. R. Branch, and Dr. W. M. McDonald on the subject of the theory of the identity of syphilie and yaws.
