IN continuation of my despatch, No. 30, of 22nd instant, I have the honour to transmit herewith, for Your Lordship's favourable consideration, a further letter and statement from the Director of Surveys embodying and amplifying the proposals made in my despatch, confidential (1), of the 14th instant, to Your Lordship.
2. The present statement, with which the Commissioner of Lands has expressed his concurrence, shows both the appointments which it is suggested should be filled by the promotion of members of the existing staff and those for which candidates are asked to be selected by Your Lordship's Office.
