Transmite, with remarks, proposals by Major Guggisberg and Mr. Cotton for the establishment of a native survey school in West Africa, and of a letter from Major Guggisborg commenting on Mr. Cotton's proposals.
Urges that advantage should be taken of the existence of the joint Anglo- Congolese Commission to measure that portion of the arc of the 30th meridian E. which falls within the sphere of their operations; offers to contribute £1,000 towards expenses and to lend two Repsold theodolites.
Gives the Anglo-German Boundary Commission's trigonometrical point at Entebbe, and requests that Chief Surveyor may be informed.
Transmits copies of Nos. 20, 25, and 27, and asks for approval of the proposals made.
Transmite, with remarks, copy of No. 42, and requests that the proposed arrangements may be sanctioned.
Requests that he will take an early opportunity of calling on Major Close in order to supply any information he may require with regard to the proposed cadastral survey of the tin mining area in Northern Nigeria.
Furnishes, in reply to No. 34, report by the Director of Surveys on the pro- gress of survey operations.
