Foreign Officé, August 11, 1903.
GENTLEMEN,
I HAVE the honour, by direction of the Marquess of Lansdowne, to transmit to you, for your information, copies of the Report of the Naval Prize Law Com- mittee on the questions referred to them, together with a print of the Naval Prize Manual prepared by the Committee.
Lord Lansdowne will be glad to learn at your convenience whether you have any observations to offer on the recommendations of the Committee or on the Manual.
His Lordship has communicated copies to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty and to the Secretaries of State for the Colonies and for India, and has proposed that the Treasury should be requested to make arrangements for com- pilations of Reports of leading prize cases as suggested by the Committee, and that Professor Holland should be employed to select the foreign cases which it would be desirable to include in the collection.
I have, &e.,
Report.
We have no observations to offer.
