MY LORD,

Royal Courts of Justice, September 16, 1895. We were honoured with your Lordship's commands, signified in Mr. Bertie's letter of the 7th instant, relative to certain Acts passed by the Parliament of Canada for the due execution of the Treaty between Great Britain and France, respecting trade between the latter country and Canada.

Mr. Bertie was to request us to favour your Lordship with our opinion whether the Act referred to in the Colonial Office letter of August 20th last, was sufficient for the purposes stated, and, if not, as to the amendments which should be introduced into it.

We have taken the papers into our consideration, and, in obedience to your Lordship's commands, have the honour to

That we are of opinion that the Canadian Act referred to in the Colonial Office letter of the 20th August 1895, is sufficient for the purposes stated, and that no further amendments are necessary.
