Temple, July 16, 1872. We are honoured with your Lordship's commands, signified in Mr. Holland's letter of this day's date, stating that with reference to his letter of the 12th instant, relating to the case of Dr. Rufus Bratton, he (Mr. Holland) was directed by your Lordship to transmit to us a copy of a Despatch from the Governor General of Canada enclosing the report of the Minister of Justice recommending that application should be made to the United States Government for the surrender of Bratton to the Canadian authorities.
