I AM directed by the Lord Chancellor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter
of the 18th instant, enclosing a draft of Letters Patent appointing Sir Garnet Wolseley to be Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Natal.
I am in reply to inform you that the Lord Chancellor sees no objection to the issue
of such Letters Patent, and that the draft appears to him to meet sufficiently the
object in view.
