Lincoln's Inn, November 22, 1866. We are honoured with your Lordship's commands, signified in Mr. Hammond's letter of the 12th instant, stating that he was directed by your Lordship to transmit to us a letter from the Colonial Office, forwarding copies of correspondence received from the Canadian Government on the subject of the boundaries of the North American lakes; and Mr. Hammond was pleased to request that we would take these papers into consideration, and furnish your Lordship with our opinion on the questions raised therein.
