Lincoln's Inn, April 25, 1865. MY LORD,

We are honoured with your Lordship's commands, signified in Mr. Murray's letter of the 18th instant, stating that he was directed by your Lordship to transmit to us a letter from the Colonial Office and its enclosure, respecting the arrival at Nassau of the "City of Richmond," after having been engaged in conveying seamen, arms, and ammunition to the "Stonewall," and to request that we would take the same into our consideration, and favour your Lordship with our opinion whether the parties con- cerned in this transaction can be prosecuted on their return to this country for their proceedings at Greenhithe or elsewhere.
