We are honoured with your Lordship's commands, signified in Mr. Hammond's letter of the 16th of March instant, stating that he was directed by your Lordship to transmit to us a further letter from the Colonial Office respecting the case of the "Chameleon late "Tallahassee," which formed the subject of his letter of the 2nd instant.

In obedience to your Lordship's commands we have taken this matter into our consideration, and have the honour to

That the conduct of the Governor of the Bahamas with respect to these two vessels, the" Rattlesnake" and the “Chameleon," appears to have been perfectly proper.
