Doctors' Commons, January 9, 1865.

I AM honoured with your commands, signified in Sir F. Rogers' letter of the 5th instant, stating that he was directed to transmit to me a copy of an Act of the Legis- No. 4 of lature of Tasmania, entitled "An Act to amend the Procedure and Powers of the 1864.

Supreme Court in respect of Divorce and Matrimonial Causes.”

Sir F. Rogers was also pleased to enclose for my information a copy of the original No. 1 of 24 Act of which this is an amendment, together with the report of Sir J. D. Harding Vict. upon it, and also a copy of the Duke of Newcastle's Despatch to the Governor of

26 April Tasmania, leaving the Act to its operation, and to state that you, Sir, would be glad if No. 36 of

1861.

I would inform you whether I see any reason why this Act should not be left to its 1 May 1881. operation.

In obedience to your commands I have taken this matter into consideration, and have the honour to
