Preamble.
Master may resume direction at any moment.
Provided that
sufficient security be given to cover expenses previously
incurred.
Wreck Receiver to
WHEREAS it is expedient to assimilate in certain respects the existing Laws and Regulations on the subject of wreck and salvage to those of the neighbouring continent, be it enacted by the Governor as follows:-
1. The master of a vessel or his representative shall be entitled to take or to resume at any and at all times the direction of any salvage proceedings in connection with his vessel or cargo, notwithstanding that he shall previously have surrendered such direction as aforesaid to the authorities of the Island.
Provided that he shall give sufficient security to the aforesaid authorities for the liquidation of such expenses as shall have been incurred previously to his resuinption of the direction of any proceedings in connection with the salvage of vessel or cargo as aforesaid.
2. The Wreck Receiver shall, on the receipt of a ship's journal, close ship's journal bills of lading, and similar papers into his custody, close the said by attaching his
signature, and
return journals at
once to Master.
journal as soon as possible by attaching his signature thereto, with the date when such signature is attached, and he shall thereupon imme- diately return the said journal, bills of lading, and similar papers to the master or his representative.
