An Act to remove Doubts as to the Effect of Letters Patent granted to certain Colonial Bishops, and to make certain Provisions and Regulations in respect to the Exercise within England and Ireland of their Office by Bishops and Clergy other than those of Dioceses in England and Ireland.

THEREAS Doubts have arisen respecting the Effect of certain Letters Patent heretofore granted by Her Majesty and Her Royal Predecessors without Authority of Parliament, in pursuance of which Bishops have been appointed in certain of Her Majesty's Foreign Possessions, within which legal Jurisdiction could not be conferred upon such Bishops by such Letters Patent, and it is expedient that such Doubts should be removed so far as relates to the Matters hereinafter mentioned; and whereas it is further expedient that the laws relating to Clergy ordained by Bishops not being Bishops of Dioceses in England or Ireland should be amended:
