Acts by or in rela- tion to such Bishops good in respect to property.

Mode of providing for disposal of

property after death of Bishop.

WHEREAS doubts have arisen respecting the effect of certain Letters-Patent heretofore grunted by Her Majesty and Her Royal Predecessors, without authority of Parliament, purporting to constitute Dioceses and to appoint the Bishops of such Dioceses in certain of Her Majesty's foreign Possessions in which Her Majesty has not power to pass laws by Order in Council, and it is expedient that such doubts should be removed so far as relates to the matters hereinsfter mentioned:

Be it enacted, &c., as follows:-

I. For the purpose of determining any right to property, all Acts or engagements heretofore done or entered into by or in relation to any Bishop appointed by or under any such Letters-Patent, shall be deemed to be and to have been of the same

force and effect as if the said Letters-Patent had

been in all respects effectual at law, except so far as such Acts shall import the exercise of any coercive jurisdiction, purporting to be conferred by such Letters Patent.

II. And whereas on the death, resignation, or removal of any such Bishop, questions may arise respecting the disposal of property in which such
