LA Commission Permanente Internationale instituée par la Convention des Sncres du 5 Mars, 1902, a examiné, au cours de sa session du mois d'Octobre dernier, le régime fiscal auquel les sucres sont soumis dans divers pays, notamment dans les suivants: Bolivie, Brésil, Grèce, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Iles Philippines, Portugal et possessions Portugaises.

Conformément aux stipulations de la Convention de Bruxelles, la Commission a décidé que les sucres provenant de ces pays doivent être soumis, à l'importation dans les Etats de l'Union Sucrière, à des droits compensateurs qui ont été fixés aux taux indiqués ci-après :-

WITH reference to my telegram of the 8th instant,* I have the honour to transmit to you, for your information, a copy of a print of a despatch from His Majesty's Minister at Brussels enclosing a note from the Belgian Government giving the names of the countries adjudged to give bounties at the recent meeting of the Permanent Sugar Commission, together with a print of a Decree of the French Government which will give you the names of those countries which the Permanent Commission had previously adjudged to give bounties.

Since the despatch of my telegram of the 8th instant, I have received your despatch, No. 392, of the 5th ultimo,† to which I will reply later.
