I live opposite to hie house. On the morning of the 2nd I saw him there at about 8. I cannot exactly say the time.
I saw this accused giving some Moormen from his house in charge of
Judicial Officer, St. Paul's Ward. I know the fifth accused.

Employed at the coal grounds. From half-past 7 to 8 he came to the office. saw him at about 11 on the coal grounds. He removed Ali Bai and family for safety and helped them. At about half-past 11 or 12 we parted.
Cross-examined: Between 7.30 and 10 he was continuously with me.

I know the fourth accused. He came to me after half-past 8. He was with me till 11. He removed me and my family from my house and helped us. Witnesses for the first accused (again) :-

Parava man, Roman Catholic. I know the first accused. He is a Roman Catholic. I live in the same garden as he. I remember the day of the riot. I saw the riot at 10. I saw the first accused on my way near his doorway. I spoke to him. When I went that way Cross-examined: I did not see corpses on the road.

Inspector, Municipality. I know the first accused. I did not meet him on the second.
The Court found no difficulty in agreeing as to the guilt of all eleven prisoners.
