Requests authority to advance police 86
constables' salary up to a maximum of £200 by further increments of £5.
Approves proposal in No. 15.
Suggests, in view of the dissatisfac- tion in the service with regard to the new rates of exchange, that half salary be paid at 2a. and half at l. 9d., or as an alternative that during present violent exchange fluctuation dollar equivalent of pound sterling should be new sliding scale which will be submitted if principle is approved. To meet im- mediate situation suggests $10 70c. exchange for pound sterling while dollar is between 8. 4d. and 48.
Agrees, in reply to No. 17, that tem- porary local allowances should be granted during present violent ex- change fluctuation taking the form
salaries of percentage of
fixed monthly on sliding scale. Requests that scale be submitted accordingly. Agrees also to 7 per cent. on salaries while dollar is between points indicated in No. 17.
States that artisans' wages have been increased by 821 per cent, over 1914 rates. Requests permission to adjust the pay of subordinate officers generally up to this limit.
Approves proposal in No. 19.
Transmits with reference to No. 10
