First Charge. The above-named accused, being persons subject to military law, are charged with treason, in that they, on or about 30th May, 1915, at Gampola, did levy war against our sovereign lord the King, contrary to Section 41 of the Army Act, 1881.

Second Charge.--The above-named accused, being persons subject to military law, are further charged with riotously destroying a building, in that they, at the time and place aforesaid, were members of an unlawful assembly, riotously and tumultuously assembled together to the disturbance of the public peace, members of which said assembly did, in execution of the said treason, unlawfully and by force destroy a place of divine worship, to wit, the mosque at Ambagamuwa road, Gampola, contrary to Section 11 of the Malicious Damage Act, 1861, and Section 41 of the Army Act, 1881.

Third Charge.-The above-named accused, being persons subject to military law, are further charged with shopbreaking, in that they, at the time and place aforesaid, were members of an unlawful assembly, with the common object of injuring His Majesty's Moorish subjects in person and property, members of which said assembly, in execution of the said treason, did break and enter into the shop of one Ahamed Saibu, and did commit a felony therein, to wit, larceny, contrary to Section 56 of the Larceny Act, 1861, and Section 41 of the Army Act, 1881.

Fourth Charge.-The above-named accused, being persons subject to military law, are further charged with shopbreaking, in that they, at the time and place aforesaid, were members of an unlawful assembly, with the common object of injuring His Majesty's Moorish subjects in person and property, members of which said assembly, in execution of the said treason, did break and enter into the stores of the said Ahamed Saibu, and did commit a felony therein, to wit, larceny, con- trary to Section 58 of the Larceny Act, 1861, and Section 41 of the Army Act, 1881. Fifth Charge.-The above-named accused, being persons subject to military law, are further charged with shopbreaking, in that they, at the time and place afore- said, were members of an unlawful assembly, with the common object of injuring His Majesty's Moorish subjects in person and property, members of which said assembly, in execution of the said treason, did break and enter into the shop of one Mana Sena Seyadu Mohamadu, alias Makkaty, and did commit a felony therein, to wit, larceny, contrary to Section 56 of the Larceny Act, 1881, and Section 41 of the Army Act, 1881.

Sixth Charge. The above-named accused, being persons subject to military law, are further charged with housebreaking, in that they, at the time and place aforesaid, were members of an unlawful assembly, with the common object of injuring His Majesty's Moorish subjects in person and property, members of which said assembly, in execution of the said treason, did break and enter into the shop of one Assen Ali, and did commit a felony therein, to wit, larceny, contrary to Section 56 of the Larceny Act, 1861, and Section 41 of the Army Act, 1881.

Seventh Charge. The above-named accused, being persons subject to military law, are further charged with shopbreaking, in that they, at the time and place aforesaid, were members of an unlawful assembly, with the common object of injuring His Majesty's Moorish subjects in person and property, members of which said assembly, in execution of the said treason, did break and enter into the house of the aforesaid Mana Sena Seyadu Mohamadu, alias Makkaty, and did commit a felony therein, to wit, larceny, contrary to Section 56 of the Larceny Act, 1861, and Section 41 of the Army Act, 1881.

Eighth Charge. The above-named accused, being persons subject to military law, are further charged with housebreaking, in that they, at the time and place aforesaid, were members of an unlawful assembly, with the common object of injuring His Majesty's Moorish subjects in person and property, members of which said assembly, in execution of the said treason, did break and enter into the house of one Seena Samsudeen, and did commit a felony therein, to wit, larceny, contrary to Section 56 of the Larceny Act, 1861, and Section 41 of the Army Act. 1881.
