Transmitting, for Governor's observationa thereon, copy of a question naked by Mr. Barbour in the House of Commons with reference to alleged hardships in the working of the Grain Tax Com- mutation Act.

Submitting observations in reply to Mr. Barbour's question in the House of Commons with regard to the working of the Grain Tax Commutation Act.

Transmitting copy of a question naked by Sir E. Watkin in the House of Com- mens with regard to the operation of the Grain Tax Act, and requesting that the information asked for may be furnished, if possible.

Transmitting, with observations therson, copy report of an inquiry by Mr. Moir into the alleged mortality between the years 1882 and 1887 in the district of Walapana, consequent on the operation of the grain tax.
