Nova-All the Squres in the columns handed “Puer mile of open line,” are calculated from thon given in the reports; and those figures relating to the Ceylon Enllways gummaly, and to the Manners Hallway do not cope with those giren by the Piannes mand Trade Manager in kia Administration Zaport, in consequmor of that offene having based his calculations on the tolaj rollenges open on the Xlai December 1984, vis., 107) and 381, instead of the math milenges worked throughout the year, vin, 108 ́3 and 13'07 respectively.
Noras.—a. The capital outlay on the construction of the section between Nawalapitiya god Talawakoló is estimated to have been Rs. 7,195,000, equal to Rs. 150,000 per mile. The total expenditure upon the whole of
the Nánu oya Railway when, finished, including maintenance for one year, will, it' is estimated, be Rs. 10,720,000, equal to Rs. 283,087 per mile.
4. Upon the completion of the Ninu-oya Railway, the capital outlay upon the whole system of Owylon Railways will, it is estimated, be Rs. 36,868,621, giving an average spital outlay per mile on the whole system, which will then be 180 miles in length, of Rs. 302,020, while the capital outlay on which interest will have to be paid, and for which a sinking fund will have to be provided, will then, it is estimated, be Rs. 14,111,939.
