at the time being, such employer shall have no right to any sum which may be received by the Govern- ment by way of stamp duty, upon any subsequent contract of service entered into between such immi- grant and another employer, nor to any sum which may be received by the Government in respect of any redemption of industrial residence by such im- migrant.

150. Saving in the case provided for by article 143, whenever any new immigrant shall have entered into a contract of service with any of the employers mentioned in article 140, and such contract shall for any cause whatever be determined, prior to the completion of the term of industrial residence of such immigrant, such employer shall be entitled to demand and receive from the Government any sum which may have been received by the Government by way of stamp duty upon any subsequent engagement of such immigrant with a new employer, or in respect of any redemption of industrial" residence by such immigrant.

151. In every case in which the right to stamp duty or redemption money shall be forfeited the magistrate shall enter upon the ticket of the immi- grant the following endorsement:

152. 154. Such sums shall be dealt with by the receiver general as provided in Ordinance No. 17 of 1875.

156. Tickets and photographs shall in the first in- stance be given gratuitously, but duplicate tickets and photographs shall not be granted except upon payment by the immigrant applying for the same of a fee of 10%.

Provided that if such immigrant re-engage, his certificate of completed industrial residence and his ticket shall be kept by his employer.

In the event of any immigrant losing his certifi- cate, he shall forthwith give notice thereof at the nearest police station, and shall receive from the non-commissioned officer or constable in charge a pass enabling him to go to the immigration office for the purpose of procuring a duplicate; and the said non-commissioned officer or constable shall imme- diately upon receiving such notice of the loss of a certificate, transmit the same to the Protector of Immigrants.

157. Any immigrant who shall attempt to procure Penalty for such duplicate certificate, or any duplicate ticket, by using false giving a false name, or false information, or who, on being called upon by the Protector shall wilfully refuse to give true information respecting his past history as an immigrant; and any immigrant using or producing, or attempting to use a false certificate or a ticket, or a certificate or a ticket not rightfully belonging to him, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and be liable on conviction to be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for any period not less than three months, nor more than six months. And any immi- grant convicted of such use of false certificates or tickets twice within 12 months shall be deemed to be an incorrigible rogue, and shall be dealt with accordingly.
