V. ST. VINCENT.
Immigration Act of 1867.
Clause 1.-Every employer of immigrants under a written contract to labour shall, on or before the 10th day of January and the 10th day of July in every year, make out and transmit to the Immigration Agent a Return in writing of the number of immi- grants who were in his service under written contract during the six months last preceding such Return, or during any part of such six months, such six months to end on the 30th and 31st of June and December respectively, which Return shall be made in the form set forth in Schedule A, annexed hereto, and shall contain the following particulars, that is to say: the name of the estate, the name of the owner of the estate, the number of immigrants received on and removed from the estate respectively, the number of births and deaths among the immigrants, the number of immigrants on the estate on the last day of such six months, the number of days' labour performed by them, the number of days on which such immigrants, or any of them, were absent, and whether absent from sickness, or on holidays, or from idleness, the number of working days, and the amount of wages earned by and paid to such immigrants, and also the number of immigrants on the estate at the end of the half-year next preceding the six months for which the return is made; and such return shall also set forth the specifi- cations of births and deaths, respectively, and the specifications of deserters among such immigrants, and of immigrants returning after desertion, with the several details as the same are set forth and required in the said Schedule A under the said heads of return and specifications respectively; and every such employer shall also make and sign the declaration set forth in the said Schedule at foot of such return; and any person liable to make such return and declaration who shall neglect to make and transmit the same within fourteen days after the time herein specified in that behalf shall pay a penalty of 408. and a like penalty for every subsequent month during which such neglect shall contínue, and any person making or signing any such Return and declaration knowing the same to be false, shall be liable to be punished as by law is provided in cases of wilful perjury.

IV. ST. LUCIA.
Ordinance of 1865.
Clause 31.-Every employer of any registered immigrants shall, within ten days next after the 30th day of June and 31st of December in each year, send in to the Immigration Agent a true and correct return, according to the form in Schedule D, to this Ordinance annexed, of all such registered immigrants who may have been in his employ at any time during the preceding six months, specifying the name and sex of each such immigrant, and whether such immigrant shall be under a written agreement for labour or not, and the date of such agreement, the number of days' labour performed by each immigrant, and the number of days during which he shall have absented him- self from his work, and also of all deductions from the original number of immigrants under written contracts which shall have taken place within the last preceeding six months, by death or desertion, and also of the births of any children among such immigrants, specifying the ages and sexes of such children, with such remarks as may be required for showing the state and condition of such immigrants.
32. It shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time to require from every employer of any such registered immigrants such further return as lie may see fit to direct, as to the number, state, and condition of such registered immigrants; and every such employer shall be bound to send in such return to the Immigration Agent, or any other person duly appointed by the Governor for that purpose, within one calendar month next after he shall have been notified to do so; and every employer of any such registered immigrants who shall fail to send in to the Immigration Agent, or other person duly appointed by the Governor for that purpose, such half yearly return as aforesaid, or shall neglect or refuse to send in such further Return as may be
required by the Governor within one calendar month after such person shall have been notified to do, or shall wilfully make any false Return, shall, on conviction thereof before any competent court, forfeit and pay such sum, not exceeding 101. sterling for every such offence as to the court shall seem fit, and in default of payment to imprisonment not exceeding thirty days.
VI. GRENADA.
Act of 1809.
Clause 81.-Every employer of immigrants under a written contract to labour shall, on or before the 10th day of January, and 10th day of July in each and every year, make out and transmit to the Immigration Agent a Return in writing of the number of immigrants who were in his service under written contract on the last day of the preceding month, which Return shall be made out in the manner and form in the Schedule hereto annexed (marked No. 10), and shall be described as the Return of the person with whom such immigrants shall have been under a written contract or otherwise, and shall contain a specification of the total number of such immigrants, and also of all deductions from the original number of immigrants under written contracts as aforesaid which shall have taken place within the last preceding six months, by death or desertion, stating the names, numbers, and vessels of import of those who may have died or deserted, and also of those who may have returned to the performance of their contract after their desertion, giving the like description, and also of the births of any children among such immigrants, specifying the ages and sexes of such children, and the names and numbers of their parents, and also a declaration that the contents of such Return are in all respects true and correct; and any person who shall neglect to transmit, within fourteen days after the time specified, any such Return as aforesaid, ' shall be liable to the penalty imposed by section 70.
VII. TRINIDAD.

Clause LXIII. Every employer shall keep on the plantation, in respect of which any immigrant shall be indentured, a labour book, and shall enter or cause to be entered in such book opposite to the name of every such indentured immigrant the days of each week for which he shall have received wages, and such book shall be open at all times
