and such immigrants may have against their employer; and such Stipendiary Magistrates shall visit every estate within their respective districts upon which immigrants are located at least once in every two months, or at such other times as the Governor may from time to time appoint, and shall report to him upon the state and condition of such immigrants.

V.-ST. VINCENT.
Immigration Act, 1864.
Clause 8. It shall be the duty of the Immigration Agent to visit every estate on which the immigrants may be located under the said Act during the months of January and July in every year, and at such other times as he shall be thereto required by the Governor, for such purposes as the Governor may from time to time direct, to call on every employer of immigrants liable to make any Return under the said Act or this Act to make and transmit such Returns, and in the event of any such Return not being made and transmitted according to law, to report such default and the name of the defaulter to the Governor, and to take such proceedings for recovery of any penalty payable on such default as the Governor may direct.
VI. GRENADA.

Clause 71. The immigration Agent may at any time enter into and upon any plantation on which any immigrants may be employed, and inspect the state and con- dition and general treatment of the immigrants, and the state and condition of their dwelling-houses and hospital accommodation, and may inquire into any complaint which the employer may have to make against any such immigrant, or which any such immigrant may have to make against any such employer, and the Immigration Agent sball make a full report of every such inquiry to the Governor.

73. Ordinance No. 13 of 1870.
Clause 22. The Agent-General of Immigrants, or, in case of his being prevented by illness or other cause to be allowed by the Governor, the Sub-Agent of immigrants or the Inspector of Immigrants, shall once at least in every term of six months visit every plantation on which any indentured immigrants shall be employed, and shall inspect the state and condition of the immigrants on such plantation, and the Labour Book kept on such plantation, and shall once in every six months make a report to the Governor specifying under the name of such plantation the several days and times when the same shall have been so visited by him, and the number of indentured immigrants employed on such plantation, and the number of those indentured in respect of such plantation but absent from the same, and a copy of such report shall be laid before the Legislative Council at its next meeting.
76. The Agent-General of immigrants and every Sub-Agent and Inspector of Immigrants shall have power to enter upon any plantation and to inquire into any breach of the pesce, or offence against this Ordinance, which may have taken place on such plantation, and to administer an oath to any person able to give evidence touching any such matter, and to grant a warrant for the immediate arrest of any person who in

such evidence may appear to him to have been guilty of such breach of the peace, or any offence against this Ordinance.
